Contracts Consultant and Technical Editor
I have over thirteen years’ experience in federal government contracting and over ten years’ experience in technical editing and drafting proposals in response to federal solicitations.
The federal contracts consulting services I offer include:
- Assisting in System for Award Management (SAM) registration;
- Completing representations and certifications (reps & certs);
- Developing document control procedures;
- Reviewing and advising on contracts and modifications;
- Reviewing and negotiating non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), teaming agreements (TAs), and subcontracts (SubKs);
- Reviewing, planning, and outlining responses to solicitations–including requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs)–and Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs); and
- Reviewing and advising on statement of work (SOWs), statements of objectives (SOOs) and performance work statements (PWSs).
The technical editing services I offer include:
- Advising on the level of complexity in relation to the intended audience;
- Blending the narratives of multiple authors into one voice;
- Checking for accuracy, clarity, and readability;
- Ensuring compliance with the appropriate style guide, including the American Psychological Association (APA), the Associated Press (AP), The Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS), and the Modern Language Association (MLA);
- Ensuring consistent use of terminology, acronyms, and abbreviations;
- Identifying gaps or inconsistencies in content;
- Proofreading: reviewing grammar, sentence structure, spelling, and word choice;
- Reviewing for completeness and relevance of content;
- Reviewing organizational structure of a document;
- Verifying agreement between diagrams and textual descriptions; and
- Verifying functionality of hyperlinks and accuracy of cross-references.
I will always put my full effort into every project. Please understand that, as the level of effort increases, the project time and, in turn, costs will increase.
Rate: $50/hour.
